Revival of Film Industry: Ways to resolve the difficulties discussed

A coordination meeting on resolving difficulties faced in the reopening of cinemas was held in Yangon on Friday.

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn attended the meeting and discussed that the cinemas were allowed to reopen for improving the welfare of people in the filming industry, to revive the movie industry which has been faced nearly to collapse, and to get back to normalcy for the producers and cinema owners.

However, it is still far from the expected target due to some difficulties.

He stressed that the unscrupulous people are obstructing the activities of the government in various ways. Some of the artistes faced threats, and the people with negative thoughts are also hindering the movie industry from getting alive.

He urged all artistes to make cooperation and report on the difficulties so that the ministry can provide the necessities. Chairman of Myanmar Motion Picture Organization U Kyi Soe Tun pledged that the association will work together with the ministry to develop the film industry and reopen the cinemas. It was followed by a general round of discussion.
