Review Session: Discussion on the efforts made for modern Tatmadaw

A Review Session on the efforts, made for modern Tatmadaw during 2011 to 2025 was held at the Zeya Thiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing clarified the utmost efforts made for the assigned duties since his inception as the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services on 30th March 2011 which is the time of transition to the multi-party democracy system.

He stressed that the prime duty of Tatmadaw is to defend from external element, but due to the internal conflicts, Tatmadaw has to take responsibility of the state. Aiming to build a standard Army, necessary infrastructures including manpower, weaponry system, navy vessels and aircrafts have been provided for the battalions and units of Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), while also recruiting the women force to serve the military duty since 2014.

In addition, the People's Military Service Law, which was enacted since 1959 and amended in 2010, have came into effect on 10th February 2024, with the People's Military servants participating in the national defend duty. He also highlighted the efforts for education promotion, welfare activities, housing projects for war veterans, and health care services for the Tatmadawmen and their families, while awarding the honorary titles and medals to those sacrificed for the nation.

He also stressed the need to make constant training for capable Tatmadaw, conducting combined training of all forces from Army, Navy and Air and while keeping abreast with the changing trend of technology. He urged all to strive for promoting the prestige of the Tatmadaw and the nation, and handing down the good legacy to the new generation, upholding the Non-Disintegration of the Union, Non-Disintegration of the National Unity, and Perpetuation of the Sovereignty, while safeguarding the State Constitution.

The Senior General also expressed his appreciation to the Vice Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Deputy-Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Vice Senior General Soe Win for his close cooperation and joint efforts in serving the interests of the Tatmadaw and the nation during the 15 years of his tenure as Commander-in-Chief.
