Review Meeting: Meeting On Vehicles Import Policy Held

The coordination meeting on the policy and procedures in importing special purpose vehicles which are included in the business used vehicles and specially structured and the meeting on trade matters with the border trade associations were held at the ministry, Nay Pyi Taw on 28th June.

At the meeting, the union minister for Commerce Dr. Pwint Hsan said that regarding the vehicles importing from abroad, the ministry is formulating the policies aiming at the flexibility of the business entrepreneurs and the earning the decent taxes for the state.

The related ministries and private entrepreneurs have been notified to permit the brand new business used vehicles through the borders and restrict the imports of motor vehicles with normal license and only permit the companies which open the sale center and showroom.

This meeting is held to review the existing policies regarding the importing Special Purpose Vehicles which are included in the business used vehicles and specially structured such as garbage truck, sewage vehicles, ambulance, water transport vehicles, oil boxer truck, LPG/LNG shipping road tanker truck and truck with crane. The attendees from the departments and organizations are invited to discus and give suggestions.

Then, the attendees from the departments and organizations reported necessaries and the union minister coordinated requirements. Afterward, the union minister attended the meeting on trade matters with the border trade associations through virtual system and gave a remark. At the meeting, the participants openly discussed the conditions of border trade and the ground situations, it’s learnt.
