Review Discussion: Promotion and transfer policies discussed

A discussion on reviewing the promotion and transfer policies for teaching and administrative staff in the basic education sector, and on methods to achieve a high-quality and high-rate succession process, was in Meeting Hall (13) of the Ministry of Education in Nay Pyi Taw on October 14.

First, Union Minister Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein stated that the promotion and transfer policies for permanent and temporary staff under basic education need to be transparent. She expressed that this discussion is being held to establish better policies and her belief that, in line with the intended objectives and in accordance with enacted laws and civil service rules and regulations, the best promotion and transfer policies can be discussed.

She urged everyone to work together to ensure the success of this discussion's aims, to establish the best policies, and to achieve good results for the education sector. Following this, Deputy Minister U Nay Myo Hlaing supplemented the discussion regarding establishing better policies and increasing the succession rate.

Afterwards, the Director-General of the Basic Education Department, U Kyaw Swar Thwin, explained matters related to reviewing the promotion and transfer policies for teaching and administrative staff in the basic education sector and methods that can be undertaken to achieve a high-rate, quality succession process.

Subsequently, participants divided into groups to discuss matters related to transfers and promotion tasks, and each group presented a summary of their discussions. It is reported that this discussion forum will be held over two days, from October 14 to 15.
