Twelve members from ethnic armed groups, including 4 from DPLA, 6 from MDY-PDF, and 2 from TNLA, voluntarily surrendered to the Tatmadaw on Wednesday at a training center in Pyin Oo Lwin, bringing weapons and ammunition with them.
They cited hardships, forced recruitment, and dissatisfaction with internal group treatment as reasons for returning. Authorities welcomed them under the government's peace efforts, provided assistance, and reunited them with families.
From July 17 to 29, a total of 118 members from TNLA, DPLA, MDY-PDF, and other groups have re-entered under the law, surrendering various arms and munitions. The government encouraged others wishing to return to contact local authorities or security posts.
