Restoration Work : Conservation at earthquake-damaged heritage sites

Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Daw Nu Mra Zan inspected repair and conservation works at earthquake-damaged heritage sites in the Inwa area on December 24.

She visited Maha Min Htin Monastery, Maung Oh Brick Road, the Inwa Archaeological Museum, Mae Nu Brick Monastery, Bagaya Wooden Monastery, and Lawka Tharaphu Pagoda. Officials from the Department of Archaeology and National Museum explained the damage and ongoing restoration work.

The Deputy Minister instructed for systematic restoration works of historic buildings while repairing the damaged structures and unsafe walls, without damaging the original historical designs. She also emphasized removing inappropriate statues that do not align with Theravada Buddhist traditions.
