Resettlement and Closure of IDP Camps: National-Level Committee held its Meeting

National Level Committee on Resettlement and Closure of IDP Camps held its work coordination meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

Chairman of the Committee Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung discussed that during the 6-month period from March to September 2021, some displaced households from Kachin, Kayin, Rakhine and Chin States have been settled to their original places.

Two IDP camps in Kayin State have been closed permanently. He added that accelerated efforts will be made for resettlement and closing of IDP camps.

Vice Chairman of the Committee Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Thet Thet Khaing also discussed on provisions of relief items and foodstuffs for the IDPs, COVID-19 vaccination and future plans.
