







A research paper reading session and poster exhibition marking the 101st anniversary of Yezin Agricultural University was held on December 22 at the Convocation Hall of the university. The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, Dr. Tin Htut, Directors General from relevant departments, Rectors, invited guests and undergraduate and postgraduate students.
At the ceremony, the Deputy Minister delivered an address, stating that since the institution was opened in 1924 as an Agricultural College and Research Institute, teaching and learning in agricultural sciences and the development of research have progressed hand in hand, clearly demonstrating that universities and research are inseparable.
He noted that Yezin Agricultural University places strong emphasis on research in its undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as well as in the awarding of degrees, and expressed great pride in its ability to carry out research at an international standard. He also expressed his hope that, for the development and advancement of the nation’s agricultural sector, researchers would continue to explore and identify practical, effective, and beneficial approaches through strong research capacity.
Following this, the Deputy Minister toured the research exhibition and viewed and encouraged the displays of 55 research posters and the outcomes of the research projects presented.
At the 101st anniversary commemorative research paper reading session of Yezin Agricultural University, agricultural experts and researchers presented and read a total of six research papers, it’s reported.
