Research and Innovation: DRI held Diamond Jubilee celebration

The 75th Diamond Jubilee celebration of the Department of Research and Innovation under the Ministry of Science and Technology was held at the meeting hall of the department, Nay Pyi Taw on 28th December and the Union Minister Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw gave an opening remark.

In his opening remark, the Union Minister said the department of research and innovation is providing necessary technical assistance, technical transfer for the development of MSME and human resource development regarding with the information and communication technology, conducting to implement Standardization for the development of Myanmar standards and accreditation to facilitate the investment and economic policies of the state, development of private industries and smooth and easy trade flow, providing recommendation, metrological technology, issuing quality assurance recommendation and laboratory testing.

The Department of Research and Innovation initiated as State Industry Research Institute – SIRI in 1947 and bored the different names including the Union of Burma Applied Research Institute (UBARI) in 1954, the Central Research Organization (CRO) in 1973, Myanma Scientific and Technological Research Department – MSTRD in 1994 and the Department of Research and Innovation – DRI in 2015.

During 75th Diamond Jubilee the celebraion, the domestic MSME enterpreneurs who awarded the prizes at the regional and international entrepreneurial and innovative competitions and the students were awarded. In hailing the diamond jubilee celebration, the technical transferring and technical dissemination requested by the domestic MSME entrepreneurs will be carried out on December 29, 2022, it’s learnt.
