






Renovation works are being carried out at the pagodas and stupas which were damaged by the Mandalay earthquake within Tatkone Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.
On Saturday, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin along with the Deputy Minister U Aye Tun and officials inspected the renovation works. At the ancient Pyaing Inn Su Taung Pyae Pagoda in Byine Inn Village, the Union Minister offered flower and water to the Buddha image and heard reports by the officials.
The Union Minister instructed to renovate the damaged places to withstand up to 8 Richter scale earthquake, maintaining original structures.
The Union Minister and party later visited to the Eain Taw Yar Pagoda constructed by Hermit U Khandi at the Padauk Kone Village. They paid homage to the presiding Sayadaw, donated offertories and submitted religious affairs.
There, the Union Minister and party oversaw the restoring works of the damaged sites of the pagoda, keeping original style, heard reports by the officials and offered flower and water to the pagoda. Due to Mandalay earthquake, Buddha Images at the pagoda were destroyed and the renovation works were completed with the collective efforts of the Pagoda Board of Trustees and related officials.
After hearing reports by the officials, the Union Minister instructed to conduct renovation works without damaging original structure, and viewed around the monastery compound.
