Renovation Works: Bridge load test & staff housing reconstruction

Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant, together with officials, inspected the Ayeyawady Bridge (Yadanabon) in Mandalay, which was damaged by earthquake.

The bridge has completed repairs and load tests, allowing cargo vehicles to increase from 25 tons to 45 tons. They also reviewed ongoing repair work and safety measures to ensure the bridge remains safe for travelers and efficient for transport.

The Union Minister and party also visited reconstruction sites in Mandalay and Sagaing for earthquake-damaged staff housing. He also instructed to meets quality and safety standards, ensuring timely completion. In Mandalay, 74 out of 264 buildings have been completed, resettling 1,134 staff. In Sagaing, 25 out of 32 buildings are completed, resettling 249 staff.
