Religious Matters : Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Examination

Union Ministers paid respect to Sayadaws and members of the Sangha, taking part in the 78th Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Selection Examination, being held at the Maha Pasana Cave in Kaba Aye Hillock of Yangon Region on Thursday.

Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin, Union Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin, Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than, Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw and Union Ministry for Construction U Myo Than visited the examination site, paid homage to nine Ovadacariya Sayadaws, received the Five Precepts and religious guidance, and offered robes and other donations.

They also shared merit after listening to a sermon. The Union Ministers later toured the examination halls and paid respect to members of the Sangha who are reciting and answering the examinations. The 78th Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida Examination is being held for 33 days, from December 21, 2025 to January 22, 2026, with a total of 526 members of the Sangha participating.

On Thursday, 70 members of the Sangha are sitting for examinations in Abhidhamma, Vinaya, and Digha Nikaya subjects.
