




Maravijaya sitting stone sculpturing Buddha image which will be the highest one among the sitting stone sculpturing Buddha images across the world is being carved in the Buddha Park in Dekkhinathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory in line with the advice from the members of Sangha, norms of the Buddhism, norms of the Buddha image and Myanmar’s traditions.
The sitting Buddha image will be created with 32 large characters of the Lord Buddha and 80 small ones in the Bhumi Phassa Mudra. Other religious edifices will be built and decorated with Myanmar artistic works in the Yadanabon era. Upon completion, the Buddha image will be 63 feet high and the throne 18 feet high. Currently, part-1 and part-2 of the throne have been positioned with efforts to carve the remaining parts.
Arrangements were made to carve the Tri Pitaka treatises, Atthakatha and Tika treatises into the marble rocks for enabling the pilgrims and people to pay homage to the Buddha image as well as observe the treatises, to propagate the Buddhism and leave the records in successive eras. Arrangements are also being made to carve Tri Pitaka treatises, Atthakatha and Tika treatises in Pali and Romanize languages on marble rocks.
A plan is underway to take samples of chambers for Pitaka stone inscriptions approved by the Fifth Buddhist Synod placed at Maha Lawkamarazein Kuthodaw Pagoda in Mandalay. The stone plaque chamber will be 12 feet long, 12 feet wide and 18 feet high and the stone plaque, 45 inches long, 75 inches high and 7.2 inches thick.
