Relief Measures : Strong wind hit Zigone and Gyobingauk

Relief and cleanup operations are being carried out in Zigone and Gyobingauk Townships in Bago Region after strong winds and heavy rain caused damage on April 17 evening.

The strong wind knocked down trees and damaged houses, monasteries, schools, and a rural clinic. Some buildings were completely destroyed. Tatmadawmen, police members, firefighters, and social organizations are helping remove debris, clear fallen trees, and assist affected residents.

In Zigone Township, 375 houses and 5 monasteries were damaged, while 10 houses collapsed. In Gyobingauk Township, 639 houses, 8 monasteries, 2 schools, and 1 clinic were damaged, with 57 houses collapsing. No injuries were reported.
