After the inspection, the Chief Minister and Commander of Special Operations Command No. 2 General Zaw Min Latt provided food supplies to frontline Tatmadaw troops at the Kyaukme District General Administration Department office. At the office’s meeting hall, the Chief Minister, Commander, and concerned officials held a work coordination meeting on township rehabilitation.
At the meeting, the Chief Minister discussed township restoration, emphasizing the return of residents, provision of basic foodstuffs, and the swift reopening of schools. He stressed the need to restore education, health, transport, electricity, water, and communications.
He called on departmental staff to promptly resume duties and assist the public, noting departments must remain reliable and coordinate with the Kyaukme District Administration Committee. The Commander then delivered a speech, followed by reports from relevant departments.
The Chief Minister urged provision of expanded learning time for students during holidays and arranging food and accommodation for teachers. He instructed the departments to promptly submit damage reports to the Shan State Government for prioritization and called for the swift appointment of ward administrators to ensure timely administrative operations.
During the meeting with local residents at the Kyaukme Township Hall, the Chief Minister pledged to restore all sectors and resume healthcare services swiftly. He also outlined plans to expedite the recovery of family records and citizenship verification cards lost during displacement and urged residents to report any difficulties to relevant departments.
This was followed by the Commander’s speech and provision of basic foodstuff to residents. The Chief Minister and party later inspected the vaccination activities at Kyaukme Township Basic Education High School No. 1 and observed students’ learning activities.
The Chief Minister also provided cash assistance to the teachers. They then visited a temporary office of the Ministry of Immigration and Population at Confucius Chinese School in Kyaukme to oversee household registration and citizenship verification card processing.
They also inspected the damaged guest hall of the Department of Construction and instructed the officials to complete repairs and toured Kyaukme Central Market. During a visit to the temporary hospital at Labamuni Chinese Temple, the Chief Minister and party provided nutritional supplements to patients.
They then visited Kanbawza Shan Monastery, paid homage to the Sayadaws and members of Sangha, observed the five precepts and donated food items. They then visited the Kyaukme District Fire Services Department, where the Chief Minister encouraged fire brigade members and presented cash rewards.
He also toured damaged staff housing and fire trucks, visited the damaged police station and provided cash assistance to police members. At the Township Judiciary Department and General Hospital, officials were instructed to complete necessary tasks.
The Chief Minister also observed the Township Development Committee’s township cleaning and beautifying efforts. The Chief Minister and party then met with the departmental personnel at Naungcho Township General Administration Department, and instructed the plans to be implemented for water access, electrification and communication, followed by the reports on work undertakings by the departments.
