Rehabilitation: Reopening of pre-school in Falam Township

On September 24, a reopening ceremony was held for the Department of Social Welfare’s pre-school in Falam Township of Chin State, which had been temporarily closed for a period of time due to terrorist incidents.

The ceremony was attended and opened by Dr. Thant Zaw Lwin, Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. At the ceremony, the Deputy Minister and officials provided snacks and nutrition to the children. In his opening remarks, the Deputy Minister urged the expansion of pre-schools across Chin State.

He stated that during the 2026–2027 fiscal year, support including teachers' salaries and educational materials would be provided for 68 self-help pre-schools in Chin State. He also encouraged relevant departments and local residents to cooperate and support the long-term development and growth of these pre-schools.Afterwards, the Deputy Minister and officials presented teaching aids, necessary supplies, and cash donations provided by donors.
