After regaining control of Nyaungcho town, which had been temporarily occupied by the TNLA group and PDF terrorists, Tatmadaw continued the operation to reopen the Nyaungcho-Kyaungme road, a key route on the Mandalay-Lashio-Muse highway.
As a result, on August 29, they reestablished control over areas such as Naung Pein, Pin Paw, Naung Pit road junction, and the Goat Twin and Gokteik bridges, ensuring the safety and security of the region. Similarly, to support regional trade and the socio-economic development of local communities, the Tatmadaw is continuing efforts to reopen key roads, which are essential for safe, unhindered travel for commuters.
The terrorists had temporarily occupied the Pyin Oo Lwin-Moegok and Nyaungcho-Moegok roads, but the Tatmadaw is working tirelessly to clear these areas of threats and quickly restore safe passage for local community. The Tatmadaw has continued clearing operations along key routes in the region, and as part of these efforts, various villages were progressively regained from the terrorists’ control during July and August.
The Tatmadaw continues to advance, consolidating territorial control and ensuring regional security through these ongoing clearing efforts. Over this period, the Tatmadaw has engaged in 48 clashes with the insurgents, resulting in the neutralization of 24 terrorists and the seizure of 23 weapons, along with a large amount of related materials.
The Tatmadaw has successfully regained control over the strategic areas with minimal casualties on their side. In addition to securing these regions, the Tatmadaw continues to work on restoring normalcy for the local population. Moreover, the Tatmadaw is committed to preventing any further acts of violence from insurgent groups, ensuring that civilians are not subjected to extortion, forced displacement, or violence.
