Regional Planning Objectives: MDY Region CM assigned regional planning objectives

The ceremony for assigning regional planning objectives for the 2026-2027 fiscal year in Mandalay Region was held on April 21 at the City Hall of the Mandalay City Development Committee in Chanayethazan Township.

During the ceremony, the Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung delivered the opening remarks, stating that local regional plans are pivotal for the development of the region. He explained that under the 2026-2027 Regional Planning Law, a total of 1,979 investment projects with an aggregate value of 242.496 billion Kyats must be implemented.

He further noted that the region aims to achieve a total GDP value of 18927.314 billion Kyats, representing a 3.1% growth rate. He urged officials to strive for the successful realization of these sector-specific and area-specific plans to enhance the socio-economic life of the citizens, ensure people-centered inclusive sustainable development, and achieve visible progress throughout the region.

Following this, the Region Minister for Planning, Economics, and Finance explained the specific projects included in the 2026-2027 regional plan. Subsequently, the Director of the Regional Planning Department presented a detailed briefing on the 2026-2027 regional planning targets.

The Region Chief Minister then formally handed over the 2026-2027 regional planning objectives to the members of the Region Government members and the Chairpersons of the District Planning and Implementation Committees.

The Region Ministers continued by detailing the sector-wise implementation strategies for regional development activities. The ceremony concluded with a closing speech by the Region Chief Minister, it’s reported.
