Regional Meetings: Myanmar delegation attends the meeting in Malaysia

Hosted by Malaysian Armed Forces, the 22nd ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Meeting- 22nd ACDFM was held at InterContinental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on 10th September.

On behalf of Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission and Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Myanmar delegation led by Chief of Staff (Army) Lt-Gen Than Htike attended the 22nd ACDFM and related meetings: 15th ASEAN Military Operations Meeting -15th AMOM and 22nd ASEAN Military Intelligence Meeting – 22nd AMIM.

The 22nd ACDFM was inaugurated with the opening remarks of the Chair of 22nd ACDFM, Chief of Defence Force of Malaysian Armed Forces.  Then, the Chair of 22nd AMIM, Director General of Defence Intelligence of Malaysian Armed Forces and Chair of 15th AMOM, Assistant Chief of Staff, Defence Operations and Training of Malaysian Armed Forces presented meeting outcomes.

It was followed by a discussion on ASEAN Unity for Security and Prosperity. Lt-Gen Than Htike participated in the discussion, making detailed clarifications and presentations on the topic. During the meeting, Two Years Work Plan (2025-2027) of ASEAN Armed forces was approved and Joint Statement of 22nd ACDFM was signed.

After closing remarks of the Chair of 22nd ACDFM, Chief of Defence Force of Malaysian Armed Forces, the chairmanship of 23rd ACDFM and ASEAN Flag were handed over to the Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines. In the afternoon, Lt-Gen Than Htike held separate bilateral meetings with heads of delegations of Malaysia, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia.

During these meetings, they cordially discussed on matters pertaining to strengthening friendly relations among armed forces and promotion of bilateral cooperation. Likewise, Myanmar delegation members attended the15th ASEAN Military Operations Meeting -15th AMOM and 22nd ASEAN Military Intelligence Meeting – 22nd AMIM on 8th September and insured to accelerate collaborative measures among ASEAN Armed Forces.
