Regional Meetings: Myanmar delegation attended 27th ALMM and 12th ALMM+3

27th ASEAN Labour Ministers’ Meeting (27th ALMM) and 12th ASEAN+3 Labour Ministers’ Meeting (12 ALMM+3) took place in the Philippines on 28th and 29th October. Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Labour Dr Pwint San attended the meetings in Manila.

The 27th ALMM was held with the theme "Together as One: Reshaping the World of Work the ASEAN Way Towards Digitalized, Inclusive and Sustainable Recovery and Growth". Union Minister Dr Pwint San discussed that due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, there were great impact on the live and social status of the world people.

The pandemic resulted the closure of the work places, changes in the policies, reduction and layoff. The Union Minister stressed the needs to make urgent assessment and preparation for the future. He added that Myanmar will work in cooperation with the ASEAN Community under the three pillars of ASEAN.
