Regional Meeting: 16th ADMM Kicked Off In Cambodia

16th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting and related meetings kicked off in Phnom Penh of Cambodia on Wednesday.

Member of the State Administration Council Union Minister for Defence General Mya Tun Oo attended the meeting together with his Southeast Asian counterparts. Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Tea Banh chaired the meeting and made an opening speech.

The meeting discussed a report on recent developments in ASEAN and a summary report on the outcome of the recent ASEAN Defence Senior Officials Meeting (ADSOM) as well as adopting new initiatives and joint declarations of the Defense Ministers’ Meeting. The discussed documents include enhanced military cooperation among ASEAN member states to prevent cross-border pandemics and strengthen cooperation among ASEAN military educational institutions.
