
Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander in Chief of Defence Services Commander in Chief (Army) Vice Senior General Soe Win met with the Mon State Cabinet members, state, district and township levels departmental personnel on Wednesday.
Chief Minister U Zaw Lin Tun reported on the administrative, economic and social conditions of the state. SAC member Dr Banyar Aung Moe made suggestions on the regional development works. The Vice Senior General later gave a speech, saying that Mon State has equipped with over 1.5 million acres of agriculture lands, and over 700,000 acres have been put on mixed and doubled cropping.
He stressed to engage in the agriculture works in the vacant lands for increasing incomes. The major product rubber has to be produced as the value added products, and officials are urged to provide assistance for achieving market demand.
The Vice Senior General also said that tourism is also the promising business in the state, and it has many tourist attraction places including famous pagodas, beaches and ancients monuments. He also pointed out the needs to boost production of edible oil, especially the sunflower oil.
For the health sector, he acknowledged the cooperative efforts of Mon State Government in COVID-19 control and treatment measures since the state has seen less cases of infection and deaths during the third wave. He also stressed to cooperate for successful holding of the multi-party general election. He also called for providing the best services to the public with goodwill kindness.
The Vice Senior General and party later met with Taninthayi Region Cabinet members, region, district and township levels departmental personnel in Dawei.
The Vice Senior General expressed his recognition on the efforts of the departmental staff with the leadership of the Chief Ministers. He stressed the needs to make preparations for security measures for peaceful learning of students and teachers at the degree colleges, universities and basic education schools.
He also pointed out the needs to produce finished palm oil in the region for boosting incomes. He said Taninthayi Region possesses rare marine resources including coral reefs and natural beauties that can attract many tourists.
By implementing the marine industry and agriculture works, the whole region will develop with better incomes, which could benefit the development of the nation.
