Regional Development Efforts: Union Minister Makes Inspection in Danu Self-Administered Zone

Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn on Monday visited the Department of Information and Public Relations (IPRD) in Ywangan Township and inspected the conditions to coordinate the information activities for the development of the region and operation of the library.

During the meeting with the staff, the Union Minister said information and knowledge dissemination activities are very important for the development of the region.

The main task of the Department of Information and Public Relations is to disseminate accurate information and raise awareness among the people. He also urged them to make efforts to improve the appearance and services of the library and it is necessary to organize the books and magazines that students and young people would like to read so that they will come to the library.

The Union minister also highlighted the need to launch computer courses and other vocational training courses and the need for the staff to collaborate with relevant regional authorities for the development of the region. Also, Chairman of the Danu Self-Administered Zone Administration Body U Arkar Lin reported on the construction of the multi-purpose hall for community centre and public awareness activities. The Union minister also observed the construction of Ananta Zina Thanbuddhe Pagoda and donated cash.

Chairman U Arkar Lin also explained the agricultural activities and regional development works of Ywangan. In his response, the Union minister said Pindaya and Ywangan have good foundations for nature-based tourism and pledged to provide media assistance to attract more local and foreign visitors.
