Locals in Ye Township of Mon State enjoy socio-economic development due to implementation of tourism project in the nearby beach since 2015.

Named as Kabyar Wa, the beach is located at Khaw Zar Town in Myawlamyaing District in Mon State and it is 20 miles away from Ye Township.

The length of the beach is 8 miles. Previously, there were not many visitors due to the difficulty in transportation system.

After tourism services have been operated in the area, Kabyar Wa Beach was crowded with the visitors. The real estate market was also up about 50 times in Kabyar Wa Village.

Administrator, Kabyar Wa Village, Than Aye said “There are 640 households at our village. Most of our local people are Gardeners and coastal workers. The visitors are less in rainy season and most visitors come to the beach on public holidays. Various kinds of seafood can be enjoyed at the restaurants.”

Visitors can relax at the recreation camps and also pay a visit to the Natural Resources and Geology Museum and Mon Literature and Cultural Museum. Plans are underway to update the beach facilities to meet the international standard.
