Regional Cooperation: ASEAN Dialogue on Cross-Border Labor in Manila

Union Minister for Labor U Khin Maung Soe led Myanmar’s delegation to a high-level ASEAN dialogue on cross-border labor, held in Manila of the Philippines. The dialogue aimed to promote safe and legal labor migration, reduce risks along migration routes, and enhance skills development

. Participants included ASEAN labor ministers and senior officials, representatives from the ASEAN Secretariat, and the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Delegates exchanged experiences and lessons on bilateral and regional cooperation, migrant management, protection and reintegration of workers, social security, seasonal migration, preparedness for crises, and digital transformation.
