Regional Cooperation: 8th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Sports

The 8th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Sports was held in Hanoi of Viet Nam from October 16 and 17. Myanmar delegation led by Chairman of Myanmar Olympic Committee Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and Hotels and Tourism Jeng Phang Naw Taung attended the meeting, together with representatives from ASEAN member states.

In his greetings, the Union Minister emphasized Myanmar active cooperation in regional sports activities and efforts for development of sports sector. He also met with the ministers and officials from Viet Nam, Thailand and Laos, and discussed the inclusion of traditional sports categories in the Southeast Asian and Asian Games and invitation for the sports event three-month in advance instead of two weeks. The delegation arrived back in Yangon on the 18th.
