To support reconstruction efforts in earthquake-affected areas, Max Cement’s Taung Philar cement plant, which currently produces and distributes 1,500 to 1,800 tons daily, has reduced its prices starting on April 23.
This aims to allow the general public to purchase cement at more affordable rates and to enhance the efficiency of recovery efforts. For the reconstruction of public and government buildings, the price of one bag of cement has been reduced from 20,000 to 17,500 Kyats.
For the rebuilding and repair of homes and buildings for earthquake victims, the price per bag has been reduced from 23,000 to 20,000 Kyats, effective immediately. According to a company representative, this price reduction is intended to accelerate the rebuilding of schools, hospitals, government offices, and other public facilities during this critical period.
It also supports the urgent repair and reconstruction of homes for earthquake victims before the rainy season begins. The representative emphasized that despite the price cuts, there will be no compromise on production volume, distribution, or product quality. Daily inspections and systematic monitoring are being conducted to ensure the cement reaches users reliably and maintains consistent quality.
