




In Bago township of Bago region, King Bayinnaung statue and square is going to be ready for the people to take a rest and make relaxations in very near future.
Under the guidance of Bago Region Chief Minister, it is being implemented since January 2022 with the capital fund of Bago Region Development Committee at the junction point between Yangon- Mandalay road and Bago bypass road, near Bago University.
The total area of the public square with the King Bayinnaung statue will be 300 feet in length, 102 feet in width when it’s completed and left only laying tiles in the construction works. It is said to be almost cent percent completed.
Assistant Engineer, Bago Region Development Committeel, Naing Lin Oo said "Under the guidance of Bago Region Chief Minister, we are implementing this public area located near Bago University. The company that won the tender carried out the construction works with granted fund 143.91 million kyats. People and the students from the university nearby can come here and take relax. We systematically arrange with heat-resistant tiles, flower boxes, fancy blocks and it is about to complete cent percent in next a week or 10 days. "
King Bayinnaung statue is 27 feet high with 54 feet high archway and the square is well decorated with beautiful landscaping designs.
Assistant Engineer, Bago Region Development Committee, Naing Lin Oo said "We covered with plastic sheets not to disturb the public around working sites since we’ve started to implement. We do systematically arrange with the sing boards to avoid dangers as it is being located at the road junction point. The company follows safety procedures under the monitoring of the relevant departments. We also implement enough lightings at the needy points."
After completion of constructing King Bayinnaung statue and square, everyone will be able to make recreation activities in a comfortable way.
