Receiving WHO Resident Rep.: MoH UM received WHO Resident Representative

The Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win, met with Mr. Tushara Fernando, the Resident Representative for the World Health Organization (WHO) in Myanmar at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on August 26.

During the meeting, they discussed the matters on ongoing collaborative efforts between the Ministry and WHO on healthcare services, surveillance of vaccine-preventable diseases, polio vaccination campaigns, cervical cancer vaccination for young women and other routine immunization activities, future collaboration on vaccination programs for 2025 and 2026, WHO's assistance following the major Mandalay earthquake and the potential for WHO to provide technical support for future immunization programs.
