Receiving UNHCR delegation: MoIP Union Minister received UNHCR delegation

Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received UNHCR delegation led by the resident representative Ms. Hai Kyung Jun at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on October 18.

At the meeting, the union minister and officials attended the meeting and cordially exchanged views on status of implementing work plans which has rapid effect for the local residents in Buthidaung and Maungtaw Townships of Rakhine State by signing MoU between the ministry and UNDP-UNHCR, work coordination with other ministries for the development of Rakhine State under the MoU, Myanmar’s coordination with Bangladesh for the repatriation of displaced persons from Rakhine state and the disturbances and hampering by the ill-intended organizations, giving help to be able to travel to the places where security measures can be maintained, the status to allow for the residence and traveling of the UNHCR staff who are assigned duty in Maungtaw region, Myanmar’s preparations and readiness for the repatriation of the displaced persons and the conveyance of those information to the international community etc.
