Receiving Russian Delegation: MoH UM received Russian delegation

Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win met with Mr. Evgeny Grigoryev, a member of the St. Petersburg government and chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, Russian Federation, along with his delegation at the Ministry’s meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw in the afternoon on October 14.

During the meeting, they discussed matters to enhance cooperation in the health sector between Russia and Myanmar, including the 2024 memorandum of understanding signed between the Ministry of Health and the Napalkov Cancer Center in St. Petersburg for exchanging experiences in cancer treatment and ongoing collaboration.

They also talked about the import and sale of medicines and medical supplies for cancer and diabetes treatment produced by pharmaceutical factories in St. Petersburg to Myanmar. Additionally, they discussed sending Myanmar’s specialist doctors to Russia for training and potential collaboration to develop health human resources between medical universities of both countries. Furthermore, they deliberated on increased cooperation concerning treatment for pediatric brain and neurological diseases and infectious disease treatment in children.
