










“Dear Youth, you must strive to enhance your speech, conduct, and actions in accordance with the honor and status you have received as 'Outstanding Students.'
You need to live with a balance between self and others, constantly seek out the progressive methods of the modern era, and at the same time, preserve and protect Myanmar's identity, Myanmar's character, and Myanmar's traditional cultural customs from fading away. You must observe the ethics appropriate for youth, such as filial duties and student duties, respect your parents and teachers, and cultivate fundamental virtues like compassion and tolerance in accordance with religious teachings.
I urge you to work diligently to become role models whom others respect and emulate." President U Min Aung Hlaing, delivered this guidance as part of his address at the ceremony where outstanding students for the 2025-2026 academic year, received the advisory guidance from the President held on the morning of May 5th at the Naypyitaw State Academy.
During the ceremony, proceeding according to the agenda, the President delivered his advisory speech. He emphasized that for national development, it is necessary to build the country with the strength of healthy, fit, and brilliant youth. Although not every young person can be a national leader, all young people are the nation's human resources who will shape the country's future.
Since young people are the future of the nation and its main source of strength, they need to be equipped with knowledge and skills. They must also possess patriotism and love for the country, and bear responsibility for the public good and the national interest. He seriously stressed the need to value and preserve the honor of the nation, the honor of one's heritage, the nation's fine traditions and customs, history, natural landscapes, and natural resources.
The state was able to select 478 outstanding students in 2023, 554 in 2024, and 728 in 2025. This year, a total of 751 outstanding students, ranging from Grade 9 in basic education up to the second year of higher education, have been produced. As a commendation for the brilliance and efforts of this year's outstanding student youth, the government will send Grade 9 outstanding students to Pyin Oo Lwin Outstanding Student Camp, Grade 10 to Inlay Camp, Grade 11 to Ngwe Saung Camp, Grade 12 to Nay Pyi Taw Camp, and first-year and second-year university outstanding students to Chaungtha Outstanding Student Camp, it’s learnt.
At the ceremony, the President presented symbolic flags for each 2026 outstanding student camp to the outstanding students, and the outstanding students presented symbolic gifts in return. After the ceremony, the President and members had lunch together with the outstanding students, along with maritime youth and aviation youth.
