Receiving IOM Regional Director: MoSWRR DM received IOM regional director

The Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Than Soe received Mr. Iori Kato, Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), at the reception hall of the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on August 13.

During the meeting, they openly exchanged views on the matters included the 20 years of cooperative activities between Myanmar and IOM, the ministry’s coordination to enable IOM to provide emergency assistance to victims of the Mandalay earthquake, the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the ministry and IOM and the continued provision of assistance to earthquake-affected areas.
