Receiving delegation: Union Minister for Health received Indian delegation

The Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win received a delegation led by India ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Saurabh Kumar on November 11 regarding with the COVID-19 vaccine and cooperation in health sector.

During the meeting, the matters on using India developed COVID-19 vaccines in Myanmar, mutual acknowledgement of vaccination certificates and easing travel restrictions, bilateral cooperation in Covid Vaccine Intelligence Network (COWIN Platform), WHO acknowledged COVAXIN as emergency use to be put in the list of Myanmar’s acknowledged vaccines, Extension of thanks to India for providing COVID-19 preventive medicines, medical equipments and assistance for construction works of Oxygen plant, Vaccination program under the National Vaccine Deployment Plan with purchased and donated vaccines, sending medical specialists to India under scholarship and the continuation of working with India in the construction of State-of-the-Art hospital in Myanmar were discussed.
