






Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing received U Tin Win, Chairman of the Myanmar–Thailand Friendship Association, and his delegation on the afternoon of August 19 at the ministry’s meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw.
At the meeting, Union Minister U Myint Kyaing acknowledged the efforts of the Myanmar–Thailand Friendship Association in strengthening bilateral friendship and cooperation in trade activities. He stated that the Ministry, in line with the law, has been facilitating the smooth movement of people across border areas between the two countries, as well as matters relating to visas and stay permits. He added that the Ministry has been cooperating with relevant departments to assist Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand, including setting up support camps inside Thailand. He encouraged the association to communicate openly with the Ministry regarding work-related matters, and assured that the Ministry would extend cooperation in accordance with established procedures.
Following this, Chairman of the Myanmar–Thailand Friendship Association, explained the background and structure of the Association, its current undertakings, joint efforts of association members from both countries for mutual benefit, and the ongoing support being provided to Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand. He also discussed the areas in which the Association sought cooperation from the Ministry.
After that, the Union Minister coordinated necessary arrangements in response to the presentations and explained how the Ministry would continue to provide support for the activities of the Association in line with procedures.
