Receiving Ambassador of India: SSPC member CGS received Ambassador of India

Member of the State Security and Peace Commission, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, Air) General Kyaw Swar Lin received a delegation led by Ambassador of India to Myanmar Mr. Abhay Thakur at the Bayintnaung Villa Guest Hall in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.

During the meeting and discussions, they noted that as Myanmar and India are good neighborly countries, the friendship and relations between the two armed forces continue to develop positively. They discussed the situation regarding further enhancing cooperation between the two armed forces for the security, stability, and rule of law in the border areas of the two countries.

They also discussed the situation regarding further collaboration in the mutual opening of military training courses and training-related matters between the two armed forces. It was noted that Myanmar is one of the three countries that initiated the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and continues to firmly adhere to these principles to date.

They exchanged views on the situation regarding the emergence of better fields once the multi-party democracy general election is successfully completed in Myanmar. The discussions were conducted in a friendly and cordial atmosphere. After the meeting, SSPC member Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, Air), and the Ambassador of India to Myanmar took a group commemorative photo with the attendees.

The meeting was attended by the SSPC member, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy, Air), along with senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief. The Ambassador of India to Myanmar was accompanied by Defence Attaché of India to Myanmar Colonel Jaswinder Singh Gill, it is reported.
