Rebuilding Works: Reconstruction of staff housing in Nay Pyi Taw

Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant, together with Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Kan Myint Than, on Thursday inspected the rebuilding and repair of staff housing damaged by the Mandalay earthquake.

They emphasized completing the projects on time with proper quality, following earthquake-resistant designs, and prioritizing housing for staff currently living in temporary modular houses. A total of 291 new buildings with over 4,600 rooms are under construction. Meanwhile, more than 1,100 damaged buildings have been repaired, and over 23,000 staff have been resettled. They also inspected ongoing repairs and urged strict adherence to technical standards to ensure timely completion by July.
