
Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing sent a message of congratulations to mark the 51st Rakhine State Day which falls on December 15.
In his message, the Acting President extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Rakhine State and all ethnic nationalities across the country. He said Rakhine State Day is a proud and meaningful occasion, marking the establishment of Rakhine State under the 1974 Constitution.
The Acting President highlighted Rakhine State’s rich history, cultural heritage, Buddhist landmarks, and its importance due to its geography, natural resources, agriculture, fisheries, and long coastline. He said the state has strong potential for development if peace and stability are maintained.
He noted that the government is working to improve the economy, education, health, transportation, and small and medium enterprises, including agriculture and livestock-based businesses. He added that 10 billion kyat has been allocated to support development projects in Rakhine State.
The Acting President also stressed the importance of national unity, peace, and stability for holding free and fair multi-party democratic elections. He urged all ethnic people to cooperate with the government, reject violence, and resolve conflicts through political dialogue. He concluded by calling on the Rakhine nationals to work together with a Union spirit and patriotism for peace, development, and a prosperous future.
