Rakhine State’s Peace, Stability & Dev’t: Cooperation with UN Agencies and Int’l Organizations

The Working Committee for cooperation with the United Nations Agencies and International Organizations under the Central Committee for the Rakhine State’s Peace, Stability and Development held its meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 8 September.

Union Minister U Wunna Maung Lwin, in his capacity as the Chairman of the Working Committee emphasized that the State Administration Council has formed the Central Committee for Rakhine State’s Peace, Stability and Development, Coordination Committee and four Working Committees with the aim to promote Rakhine State’s Peace, Stability and Development.

The Working Committee will continue implementing its work to prove the tangible results at the international arena. Moreover, he underscored that it is important to effectively carry out the respective activities for the actual improvement of social lives of all communities in Rakhine State.

Moreover, the Committee members discussed the ongoing implementation and the areas for further cooperation in the Rakhine State including the ongoing projects of UN agencies and international organizations as well as International Non- Governmental Organizations.

Additionally, they discussed the arrangements for the repatriation process of the displaced persons from Rakhine State after the systematic verification has been carried out.

The attendees also discussed the future plan for the effective implementation of the tasks of the Working Committee and the important role of disseminating the credible information.

The Union Minister made emphasis on close coordination among Ministries concerned for the effective contribution of the assistance of the UN agencies and international organizations to the areas where the assistance is actually in need.
