Rail collision kills hundreds

In one of the deadliest rail accidents, over 230 people were killed and around 900 injured when two passenger trains derailed and hit a goods train in Balasore district of Odisha in India on Friday evening.

The injured have been admitted to different hospitals. State Chief Secretary has confirmed the death toll and said the toll is expected to increase. Meanwhile Railways Minister said a detailed high-level inquiry will be conducted and the rail safety commissioner will also do an independent inquiry to know the cause of the accident.
