Quick-impact Project : Ceremony of completing installation of multi large display

A ceremony marking the completion of the installation project for technical office equipment (Multi Large Display) at the Emergency Operations Center (Yangon), a quick-impact project under the Mekong-Ganga Cooperation Program, was held Wednesday morning at the Yangon Region Office of the Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement.

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Thant Zaw Lwin and the Indian Ambassador to Myanmar, Mr. Abhay Thakur, officially inaugurated the Multi Large Display by pressing a button and ceremonially sprinkled scented water on the commemorative plaque.

Afterward, the Deputy Minister spoke about the benefits of implementing the Emergency Operations Center (Yangon) project in relation to natural disaster management activities, its potential support for information management operations, and expressed special thanks to the Government of India and the responsible officials who supported the project.

Next, the Indian Ambassador to Myanmar stated that he was honored and pleased to be able to contribute in some way to Myanmar’s disaster management efforts and added that necessary assistance would continue to be provided.

Following this, a documentary video showcasing the implementation of the project was presented, and the Deputy Minister presented a certificate of honor to the Indian Ambassador in recognition of the successful completion of the project, it’s reported.
