





The first day of the second regular session of the Third Pyidaungsu Hluttaw was held today, June 4, at 10:00 a.m. in the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Meeting Hall in Nay Pyi Taw. Of the 560 representatives entitled to attend, 558 were present.
First, the Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw delivered the opening remarks and greetings.The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw then formally recorded congratulatory messages sent by international leaders to the President.
A proposal welcoming and congratulating President U Min Aung Hlaing on his official visit to the Republic of India was submitted by Dr. Khaing Khaing Su, Representative No. 10 from Rakhine State, and the Hluttaw officially recorded the proposal.
Afterward, Anti-Corruption Commission member U Win Zaw Moe took an oath before the Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw.
The session was then temporarily adjourned.
Following the recess, the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw recorded submissions sent by the President, including the formation of the Union Advisory Council, the appointment of U Tin Maung Win as Chairman of the Union Civil Service Board, along with six board members, the appointment of U Kan Myint Than as Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, along with six council members, the appointment of Region or State Chief Ministers, the appointment of U Thit Lin Ohn as Chairman of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission, along with ten commission members, the appointment of Deputy Ministers in Union Ministries, the appointment of Dr. Htein Lin Oo as Deputy Attorney General in the Office of the Union Attorney General, the appointment of Daw Khaing Khaing Aung as Deputy Auditor General in the Office of the Auditor General of the Union and the appointment of Chief Justices of Region or State High Courts.
Next, Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney General Dr. Thida Oo submitted proposals seeking Hluttaw approval for Order No. (1/2026) issued by the Office of the President declaring a state of emergency and Order No. (2/2026) issuing martial law.
It was announced that representatives wishing to discuss these proposals could submit their names.
Then, Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Han Win Aung explained to Pyidaungsu Hluttaw a proposal submitted by the President regarding exemption from special goods tax and commercial tax on diesel fuel (HSD 500ppm).
Representatives wishing to discuss the matter were invited to submit their names.
Today’s meeting adjourned at 11:32 a.m., and the second day of the session will continue on June 9 at 10:00 a.m., it’s reported.
