President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday that the Russian military action in Ukraine aims to ensure Russia's security and vowed that its goals will be achieved.

Speaking on a visit to the Vostochny space launch facility in Russia's Far East, Putin said that the campaign was aimed at ensuring Russia's own security.

The Russian President also said that his country is "not going to be isolated", arguing that Russia has no intention to isolate itself and that foreign powers wouldn't succeed in doing so either.

He toured the space facilities with close ally Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
