Putin praises Russia's Sarmat ICBM launch

The Russian Defense Ministry on Wednesday reported a successful launch of the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile, with President Vladimir Putin praising it as unique and saying it will make those who threaten Russia "think twice."
The missile was launched from the Plesetsk launch facility in the northern Arkhangelsk region, and all the goals of the launch were achieved in full, with training warheads landing in the far eastern Kamchatka region. Commenting on the launch, Putin said that "this is a big, significant event" for Russia's defense industry and praised the new ballistic missile as having "no equivalents in the world."
