Putin calls voting in upcoming elections 'contribution to Russia's victory'

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that taking part in the upcoming elections will be a “collective contribution to Russia’s victory" on the battlefield, as well as in the standoff with the countries' political enemies. In his address to the nation, the Russian President urged Russians to vote and show unity with the country.

The tightly-controlled vote, that will take place this week, is seen by the Kremlin as a barometer of public opinion on the war with Ukraine, which is dragging through its fifth year.
