Provinces along China's coast prepare for Typhoon Koinu

Typhoon Koinu, the 14th typhoon of this year, has already forced the closure of many tourist attractions and put authorities in China's coastal provinces, particularly Fujian and Guangdong, on high alert. Torrential rains and strong gusts forced millions of people to stay away from work and school.

According to the National Observatory, the typhoon is moving westward towards Guangdong and is expected to make landfall on Saturday in the eastern coastal regions of Guangdong.
