









Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htain Nan and officials attended a ceremony at the village hall in Ngwe Pyaw Model Village, Myitkyina Township on August 26, for the donation of livestock to local displaced people who have been resettled in the village to help them enhance their livelihoods through farming.
First, the Chief Minister, along with state ministers and other officials, met with the village households in the hall and gave a speech. The Director of the State Department of Livestock and Veterinary Science then explained the purpose of the donation and the department's plan to provide livestock to the displaced people.
The Chief Minister then provided local pigs, goats, and chickens to households from Kankaw Myaing, Thazin Myaing, and Ngwe Pyaw Model Village. A farmer representing the recipients expressed words of thanks. The administrator of Ngwe Pyaw village then discussed the needs for the village's development, and the Chief Minister coordinated with relevant officials to provide assistance.
After the ceremony, the Chief Minister and officials toured the village. They inspected the ongoing work to construct new drainage outlets to prevent seasonal flooding and improve water flow. They also observed the traditional weaving businesses operated by the village women to supplement their family income. They also inspected the construction of new individual homes being built for the resettlement and rehabilitation of internally displaced people.
The Chief Minister then inspected a nearby broiler chicken farm and coordinated with officials to provide the necessary assistance.
In the afternoon, the Chief Minister and state government members met with officials from the Myanmar Motion Picture Organization and the Video Basic Association (Central), as well as officials from the Kachin State Video Basic Association. They discussed the need for continued collaboration on issuing video licenses and the overall management of the industry. The Chief Minister coordinated with the attendees to facilitate the necessary cooperation and support.
