





The Union Minister for Immigration and Population U Myint Kyaing together with Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo and officials visited Pauk Myaing monastery in Lewe Township on 8th October, paid homage to the presiding Sayadawgyi, offered the offertories and supplicated the implementation of rehabilitation works for the flood affected people.
Next, the Union Minister and Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman met with the flood affected people in the community hall of the monastery. First, the Union Minister explained that the government is working diligently on recovery efforts to help the flood-affected areas return to normal as quickly as possible.
The Ministry has also been donating clothes and essential items to those affected by the floods and is working on verifying and reissuing lists of missing persons and household members, as well as identification cards for citizens. He mentioned that the nationwide population and housing census is currently being conducted, and arrangements are in place to gather information from the flood-affected people as part of the census. He urged everyone to cooperate by answering the census questions accurately and contributing to the process.
Next, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman gave words of encouragement regarding with fulfilling requirements for the flood-affected people.
Then, the Union Minister and Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman provided census-taking logo T-shirts, consumer goods, foodstuff and certificates of household list and Citizenship Scrutiny Cards implemented on the ground to the flood-stricken people.
After that, the Union Minister and Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman oversaw the carrying out for re-issuing loosen and destroying certificates of household list and Citizenship Scrutiny Cards due to the flood with the documentations and records and Unique ID with e-ID System by the personnel from the office of Lewe Township Chief officer, gave words of encouragement and necessary instruction.
Next, the Union Minister and Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman oversaw the census enumeration process, gave words of comfort, provided assistant materials through the Village representatives and cordially greeted the flood-affected people.
Ministry of Immigration and Population is actively conducting fieldwork at relief camps in the regions and states affected by the floods. The Ministry is facilitating the re-verification and reissuance of household member lists and citizenship identification cards that were lost or destroyed during the floods, in accordance with the law. Additionally, they are ensuring that the population census process is carried out efficiently and conveniently in these areas.
