Legal Awareness Training: Legal awareness training for trainers opened in Mon State

The opening ceremony of the legal awareness Training of Trainers (TOT) course for ward and village tract administrators was held Monday morning at the meeting hall of the Mawlamyine District General Administration Office. Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Win Than delivered the opening speech, and Mon State Advocate General Daw Mi Thandar Myint explained the purpose of opening the training course.

Aiming to produce talented new-generation athletes and to elevate the role of sports and youth in Mon State, the opening ceremony of the 2026 Mon State Chief Minister’s Cup 10-Township U-25 Men’s Basketball Tournament was held this morning at the State Gymnasium in Mawlamyine. Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Win Than delivered an opening address and officially opened the tournament.

It is reported that the 2026 Mon State Chief Minister’s Cup 10-Township Under-25 Men’s Basketball Tournament will be held from July 6 to 9.

Subsequently, the State Chief Minister and officials inspected the damage caused by strong winds that hit Kada Ward in Paung Township on the night of July 5, which damaged religious buildings, a basic education primary school, and several residential homes. The Chief Minister and officials observed the relief and rehabilitation efforts, including the cutting and clearing of fallen trees, as well as assistance being provided for fallen electricity poles and roofless houses by members of the Tatmadaw, Myanmar Police Force, Fire Brigade, electricity staff, and community elders. During the inspection, the Chief Minister warmly comforted the windstorm victims and gave instructions to responsible officials to coordinate and provide the necessary assistance, it’s reported.
