Providing Fertilizers to Farmers: MCRD UM provided fertilizers to paddy farmers

The ceremony to provide fertilizers to paddy farmers through the crop-collateral system was held at the Kyaugye Village Farmers’ Education Center, Lewe Township on August 19.

At the event, Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe attended and delivered an opening speech. In his remarks, Union Minister U Hla Moe explained that, in accordance with the guidance of the Head of State to enable farmers to use agricultural inputs at affordable prices through the crop-collateral system, the Nay Pyi Taw Council and relevant departments have been cooperating to provide farmers with the necessary inputs and quality seeds.

He also highlighted that when crops are harvested, farmers are required to repay the value of these inputs, loans from the Myanmar Agricultural Development Bank, cooperative loans, and Green Emerald loans without default, and discussed matters related to regional development.

Next, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council U Than Tun Oo gave further remarks, and following that, the Union Minister and the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman responded to the presentations and requests of local farmers. Subsequently, the Union Minister, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, and council members distributed Pearl brand fertilizers to paddy farmers from eight villages in Lewe Township including Kyaugye, Naungbo, Thapyepin, Pyaungkhaunggyi, Paukmyaing, Aleykyun, Thawhmawkone, and Shwepyiaye and later observed demonstrations of natural fertilizers arranged by the Department of Agriculture.

Continuing their trip, the Union Minister and officials inspected the multi-purpose liquid soap production in Kyaugye Model Village, visited the multi-purpose farm owned by the cooperative association in Pyinmana Township where member farmers were cultivating high-yielding varieties of paddy, and observed the breeding of Brahman cattle and local cattle farming.

Responsible officials presented the status of these activities, and the Union Minister instructed them to strictly follow necessary agricultural practices to achieve the targeted yield rate. He also coordinated to address the requirements as needed.
